According to Jesus in Luke 24:44-47, what is the Hebrew Bible about? How should this guide the way we read the Joseph story?

Jesus tells his followers that the whole Hebrew Bible is about him: a promised chosen representative who would suffer, die, and rise from the dead so that transformation for the forgiveness of sins would be proclaimed to the whole world in his name (Luke 24:44-47). When we read a story like Yoseph’s in Genesis 37-50, it’s helpful to see it as part of a whole collection and to notice how the Yoseph story enriches the developing portrait of the promised messiah.
